Nice one Zyyph!

Just a few things I would like to point out:

  • The "fluid" dripping simulation stops working after the first restart.
  • Clicking the belly repeatedly can get buggy and not start the paw/burp sequence. I think it would be more pleasant if the paw animation faded in/out when clicking/releasing.  To take it to the next level would be to make the paws follow the cursor around the belly :)
  • Weird sound options: ambient- gurgles and ominous wooshing, effects- gurgles from actions (which can hardly be heard even without ambient sounds) and burping.  I could suggest moving all belly sounds on one slider and making sounds from actions louder. Maybe change the scary wooshing to something more pleasant, but that can depend on the commission.
  • The dialog disappearing animation is quite odd imo.

Overall, a very solid project, (just noticed the word modest in the title) definitely modest, but commission-worthy. It's always a good day when you make something!

Breakfast Earned!

I figured out how to play it - open this game page on a browser, because it has an imbedded window to run the game without downloading it.

What I did wrong apparently was download the game files and then run them (which didn't work). I first saw your project published while on itch.io desktop app, which does not allow to run the game on the main page itself. Therefore, seeing that it could not be played online, I downloaded it. I tried running the files on chrome, microsoft edge and operagx on a windows 10 laptop.

Hope this helps  if anyone else has a similar problem.

Yeah, browser based games are fiddly to make (I think) but are fine for small and short games. The downside later on would be longer loading times as files become bigger (not really in your case - png's and text don't take up much space) and the problem with progress saving.

After finally playing it - I enjoyed it :D

Warmhearted as always. I noticed you used some assets (mostly the music) from your previous visual novels which brought some nostalgia (yes I can be nostalgic over things that happened a couple of years ago lol).  Atm marbles are not being used yet, you can take only one job at a time, and there are three different demons.

Marbles could be used for temporary scented candles that could be used to have a higher chance to get different demonic motes or buy items for your demons. Maybe it would be possible to see faces of whoever is speaking on the other side of Commarble. Some instructions about the stats of the creatures would be nice.

Sorry if I went on a bit of a rant, I just can' stop myself when it comes to things that I care about.  This demo is already quite well done and I'm sure it will only get better from here. Take care!

Hi Zyyph! It's always fun to see the things you make and I can't wait to check out this demo... however I keep getting errors when trying to run it using the itch.io app or any other browser I have.

Nvm, turns out I didn't even need to download the game and just open this page on a browser :)

On itch.io it shows this error:

Unable to parse Build/MonchinMergerPublicDemo_1.5.1.framework.js.br! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: br" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug.

And using a browser:

Failed to download file Build/MonchinMergerPublicDemo_1.5.1.data.br. Loading web pages via a file:// URL without a web server is not supported by this browser. Please use a local development web server to host Unity content, or use the Unity Build and Run option.

Do I need to install Unity and open it as a project on there?
